Miller Residence

PROJECT TYPE:

Located in beautiful Brookberry Farm, the Miller Residence is an excellent example of how a landscape architect can add value to a property. Left undeveloped for many years, this 1-acre property sat adjacent to a floodplain and some 11 feet below the road with multiple utility easement lines and drainage swales crossing the property. Due to the complexities of the site, this lot was bypassed by many until MLA was put to work rerouting utilities, filling and regrading the property ultimately creating a building pad on which to construct this 4600 sf Modern Farmhouse style home. At completion this home possesses a circular driveway, front wrap around porch, a rear vista porch, gated, split style rear driveway access to a 3-car parking courtyard and lush landscaping enhanced by stepping-stone walkways, fountains and perennial gardens. The home is now enjoyed by the Millers who feel like they are on vacation every time they gather on their rear porch to watch the wildlife in the natural area below.
